How to Get Traffic to Your Blog With Guest Posts

Guest posts are articles written for another blog which can be accepted or rejected by the content manager of the blog. He or she can determine to publish your article, depending on certain factors which very can very from blog to blog.

What you receive if the article is published is a link to your site that will normally include an anchor text of your choosing. Sometimes blogs will allow you to link both in the resources box as well as in the article itself if it is relevant, be sure to read the guidelines for each of the blogs you would like to post on.

Guest posts are a great way to get traffic to your blog.

This is going to sound a little controversial but stay with me. Blog posts are not going to bring you more traffic. Let me say that again, guest posts are not going to get traffic to your blog by themselves and here’s why.

Backlinking to Get Traffic to Your Blog

The majority of blogs you are going to find are going to benefit you in providing you with backlinks. Backlinks are like a vote of confidence from another site that your blog is providing content that is relevant to the keywords you are targeting within the article.

However like in the real world not every vote is equal, the more popular and influential a site is; such as high ranking sites like LifeHacker, will provide you with a higher quality vote. Therefore you will receive a better ranking in Google for the anchored keyword you’ve targeted. This way you will get more traffic to your blog by guest posting on other blogs.

YoungPrePro.com shows his own experiment on how to get traffic to your blog with guest posts. He wrote 31 blog posts in a week and shared his results. Yongprepro.com targeted specific keywords for each guest post and tracked his results. The guest posts he wrote were proving to be very successful, within 10 days he saw improvements on his blog.
